Workshops for Years 5, 6 and 7
The rule of law
May sound like a bore
But it's really rather important.
In fact, it’s so important that it’s one of our PSHCE British Values.
This one hour workshop is aimed at Years 5, 6 and 7. It uses the best of silly games, even sillier poems, an inflatable globe and just a little bit of chocolate to explore why we have rules and what happens if they don’t exist.
It encourages children to think about what makes our rules fair, why people adhere to them, and how our rules are made.
Through playing games, we explain why is government like a tree. Why are there three branches? What do they do? And why is it so important that these branches are kept separate?
The workshop can be held in a classroom with up to 36 students in any one session. Only enthusiasm, imagination and good listening skills are required!
